Oh, Saturdays. The thought of our week leading up to a slow, cozy saturday morning makes me giddy with excitement. Its hard to imagine life before we became a family. Waking up to slobbery baby kisses and morning breathe giggles in bed – reading with Oliver while steve gets the kettle whistling. This morning, the book of choice was a recent purchase to encourage Oliver in understanding the new addition coming and how special he will still be to us —
So so special, our little ginger snap. Dad will still wear you on his back while he makes breakfast, the apricity pouring through our kitchen window. Mum will always snuggle up with a book to read to you about all the world you’ve yet to explore – encouraging you to turn the pages at your pace.
We’ll enjoy our mornings through still sleepy eyes and not rush for anything. These are our moments with you, and soon to be with your sister, that everyone talks about – those fleeting times we’ll look back on and reminisce on how fast they flew by. But we wont let them simply fly on, my little. We’ll start every saturday this way like we always do – cozy, lingering, together.
